Title: Love and Quadrilaterals
Characters/Pairing: Roger/Mark/Collins/Benny
Word Count: 308
Rating: PG
Summary: Roger understands couples and threesomes, but four people makes things complicated.
Notes: Written for
elvensorceress, who asked for this pairing (foursome?) ages and ages ago. ^^ Also written for prompt #43 at
fanfic100. Dialogue-only, with four people, so if you don't know who's speaking at any point... feel free to ask!
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the boys, or the show Rent. Oh well.
"What the hell are we?"
"You know, Roger, of all the stupid, unexplained questions you tend to ask, this one has to be the stupidest."
"Shut the hell up."
"And you managed to use hell twice in the space of two sentences. Might want to work on your vocabulary."
"I'll hurt you."
"I feel loved."
"I still love you, Benny."
"See, Mark still loves me."
"Mark loves everyone. Mark's a slut."
"Play nice, children."
"Yes, Daddy."
"Ooh, we're calling Collins Daddy now? That's kinky."
"Ew."
"Sorry, but I'm not into that kind of kink."
"Well, there goes our planned weekend fun."
"Thank God."
"That's okay, we can find other kinky games to play. We could tie Mark up."
"Roger, let go of my wrists."
"Fine."
"Roger had a question."
"Yes, I did."
"A question that made no sense..."
"Shut up."
"Ask the damn question, Roger."
"What are we? Benny, don't look at me like that, I'm explaining."
"I wasn't looking at you like anyth-"
"I mean, two people, that's obvious. It's a couple. Three people, it's a threesome or a love triangle or something. Four people..."
"This is just a wild guess, but... a foursome?"
"That sounds retarded, though."
"That's your problem."
"A love square, maybe?"
"That doesn't sound right. Squares have equal sides."
"And?"
"That implies a certain order we don't have."
"Actually, you're right."
"Maybe a hexagon... No, that's not right."
"Hexagons have six sides."
"I realized that."
"Not soon enough to avoid sounding stupid, though."
"Don't make me kick your ass, Roger."
"Like you could!"
"Quadrilateral is the word you're looking for."
"Maybe a trapezoid. They're kind of funky. ...Why are you all looking at me like that?"
"Alright, Mark's made the weirdest comment thus far. And this conversation needs to end before it gets any weirder."
"Agreed."
"Hey, I still didn't get an answer!"
"Shut up!"

Though it makes me sad to think about "1&1&1&1".... *wibble*
