Title: Rebellion
Characters/Pairing: Roger/April, Mark/Maureen, Collins and Benny
Word Count: 255
Rating: PG
Summary: When April tries to lay down the rules... Roger can't help but break them.
Disclaimer: Not mine.
"Okay!" April said loudly, walking backwards so that she could look at the others following her – everyone except Roger, who had promised he'd be down in a minute. Her feet crunched on the fresh snow, new enough that it wasn't cleared off the sidewalk or trampled into gray sludge by pedestrians. "When we get to the park, there will be no snowball fights unless everyone agrees to it. No surprise attacks, no snow stuck down people's shirts–"
She paused to shoot a glare at Collins, who looked patently innocent. Opening her mouth to continue, she was cut off by a great deal of loose snow landing directly on her head. For a second she didn't move, as bits of the snow slowly slid down to her neck and onto her shoulders; then, with a sigh, she brushed it off her head, trying to ignore Maureen laughing helplessly into Mark's chest, Mark and Benny both trying unsuccessfully to conceal smiles, and Collins laughing at her without reservation.
When most of the snow had been brushed off, she looked up to see Roger leaning over the edge of the fire escape, grinning triumphantly down at her. "Roger, baby?" she called to him.
"Yeah?"
"You know I'm going to have to kill you now, right?"
"Yeah."
"Okay. Get your ass down here."
Still grinning, Roger ducked back inside. April pulled her coat a little tighter around herself, tried to regain as much dignity as she could, and began to think of a way to exact revenge.
