Word Count: 1481 Hey, remember when I used to write one-shots about this length? Yeah. Now it's either drabbles or monster multichapter epics. ...I miss the day of average-sized one shots.

Summary: Birds of a feather... apparently hate each other's guts.
Notes: Written for speed_rent challenge #80. Oh, speed_rent... I miss the good old days of speed_rent. ...Not so much the later days, but the first 100 challenges or so were awesome, and I think I did about every other one. (I'm not even kidding. For certain periods of time, it was that predictable.) ...I don't even remember what this challenge was for. No, wait! I think it was the crossover with a musical that had an actor who had been in Rent. Last 5 Years' ENTIRE ORIGINAL CAST was in Rent. And one of them in the OBC (okay, he was a swing). BEAT THAT. ... I am not over-competitive. Not at all.

DVD COMMENTARY: Gift

Title: Gift DVD COMMENTARY
Characters/Pairing: Mal and River, mention of Kaylee
Word Count: 715

Summary: It's the first Christmas without Kaylee – and the first one with River.
Notes: Written for soscaredtolove's Christmas present – set in Boxverse, an AU in which Kaylee died in the episode "Serenity", and Mal shot and killed Simon before finding River in the box. That basically explains Boxverse - I don't even remember how it came about, just one of those verses that just appeared. Kaylee died. Mal shot Simon. Jayne went and tortured and killed Dobson. They found River in the box, and kept her on the ship, since... they can't really do anything else, and Mal feels a little responsible. River takes Kaylee's place as the mechanic, because she can sort of... hear Kaylee, in the engine room, telling her what to do... and there's a lot of River/Mal-ness that hasn't yet become more than subtext. You can find the original RP here (on my personal journal, friends-locked), which we never actually finished, but it's the official beginning of Boxverse.
Disclaimer: I don't own Firefly or any of its characters. Definitely not Joss Whedon. Though I would kill to be able to work for that man. Seriously.
